All you need to know about MOTs
The Ministry of Transport test is commonly referred to as an ‘MOT’. An MOT must be carried out each and every year on all cars aged 3 years and older. This test will check the overall health of the car and its road worthiness – if the car is deemed to be road worthy, it’ll receive an MOT test certificate, valid for 1 year from the date of the test. If the car fails its MOT, work will need to be carried out to allow the car to pass its MOT. The car may not be driven away after a failed MOT unless it is for the work to be done at an auto repairs garage – once the repairs are done, the car will then need to go through its MOT once more to obtain the certificate.
